Dear Author or Artist,
Thank you so much for my present! I haven't done an exchange like this in years and I'm really looking forward to seeing what you produce.
I'm going to be pretty open-ended with my suggestions. I love so many different types of fanworks, but I will try to give you something more than that to work with. Please feel free to treat these ideas as suggestions and go where the muse takes you.

Specific Likes/Dislikes for Fandoms:
The Magicians: I love both Fillory and Brakebills as settings, so anything set in either of those places is good. Show canon is my preference, at least for interpretations of the characters, but I also love the books and like seeing book themes and canon. I am still upset about the season four ending and the direction the show went in season five, so if you go a canon-compliant route, please either set it before the end of season four or make it a fixit.
Avatar: I generally prefer post-series fics and art, so the characters are a little older than in canon. This is less of a concern for the teenage characters than the really young ones.
Sanditon: Similar to the Magicians, I am thinking of show canon and interpretations of the characters, but I love the book and am happy to see plotlines from it incorporated. This is my one non-fantasy fandom, so non-magical AUs are fine here.
MCU: I would prefer to completely ignores Infinity War/Endgame. All other canon is acceptable if you are going the canon/canon divergence route. I love the comics and am happy to see stories that incorporate comics characters and plots with the MCU versions of the characters.
DCEU: Like with the MCU, I like the comics and like seeing comics stories and characters mixed with the movie versions. Also, I said above that I don't like having characters' exes bashed, but here is the exception: I hate Harley/Joker and if you picked a Harley pairing feel free to bash the heck out of that ex relationship.
Star Wars: I love all forms of Star Wars media and like seeing other parts of the canon mixed in, even though most of my ships are Sequel Trilogy. I have another exception to my no-character bashing: I don't like stories that redeem Kylo Ren too easily, so if you go the canon route please keep him at least sort of a bad guy.
Titans/Arrowverse: Same as the DCEU, I love mixing in comics storylines into the show interpretations.
The Old Guard: My one exception to liking AUs! I like a canon divergence in this fandom, or a different take on the immortality theme, but I think the long lifespans are too important to the characters to do an AU that totally ignores them. But I do love seeing the characters in different time periods.
Harry Potter: I like both books and movies. I dislike the epilogue.

Likes:
- Found family and group dynamics. All my fandoms have strong friendship/family themes, and even though I picked specific ships to highlight, I really love the relationships those characters have with the rest of the group. Please feel free to have background ships that weren't ones I listed. I'm very ship-friendly and happy to see any background pairings.
- Friends to Lovers, i.e., the best shippy trope
- Enemies/Rivals to Lovers, the second best trope
- In general I just really love tropey stuff? Fake Dating/Marriage, There Was Only One Bed, Roommates. All good stuff. I also like the more serious tropes. I love Angst with a Happy Ending and Hurt/Comfort, or darker moments in the characters' lives and how they recover from them. For fics, nothing with a sad ending, but you can stretch out the pain until close to the end if that's what you want. But I also love fluff, so, you know, options.
- Non-sexual intimacy is a big love
- Emotional smut. I like smut but I like it with a strong emotional undercurrent. I also like power dynamics and milder BDSM themes in the smut if that's something you're into writing, but no pressure at all.
- I like in-canon, canon divergence and AUs pretty much equally (with one exception below.) For AUs, I really like if the characterization keeps elements of the characters' histories from canon but in a different setting. I also prefer if it keeps some element of fantasy even if it's a different setting or time period. I love historical AUs!
- Most of my fandoms are some form of fantasy, and I really love stories and art that highlight the magic systems and worldbuilding.
- Even for my male/female ships, I generally interpret most of my favorite characters as queer, and I really like queer themes. For fics, if it's something you're comfortable with, I love acespec and arospec interpretations of characters, and for my polyam ships I love stories that explore how the dynamics in those relationships work.
- Holiday themes! If you feel inspired, I would love a holiday theme. You can pick whatever holiday it seems appropriate for the characters to celebrate.
Dislikes (This will be a much shorter list):
- Character/ship bashing. I've listed my favorite ships but that doesn't mean I dislike other characters or ships. I'm a softie, I generally like everyone even at points when the canon isn't making them look their best. (Exceptions are listed below.) So please avoid bashing a character's ex or friends or whoever. Canon-typical teasing is obviously fine.
- Infidelity (unless it's consensual! Totally here for that!) This includes emotional infidelity or a character breaking up with one person to immediately start dating another person.
- A/B/O, mpreg and other more kinky forms of smut
